Location The small village of El Sauzal, about 1.2 km away, has a particularly beautiful and exposed location in the sunniest stretch of the north of the island of Tenerife, where the sun shines for about 2700 hours a year. Situated 300 metres above the sea on a huge cliff, it offers magnificent sea views over the entire north coast and Mount Teide. Recommended places for this are the Parque de los Lavaderos and the Mirardor de la Garañona, with a pleasant café and situated just above a wild beach in the deep, which belongs only to the birds and waves of the Atlantic.
The village itself has its own market, many other shops for daily needs and the administration of El Sauzal in the well-kept historic centre. To the southwest, the settlements of villas, chalets and holiday homes spread out on the coveted spots of the steep coast: whether in Los Naranjos, Los Perales, El Puertito, La Primavera or La Ermita Los Angeles, in all the urbanisations of El Sauzal a quiet postcard idyll is combined with the magnificent sea view next to the volcano. For the locals, it is the most beautiful place on the island of Tenerife.
